Description

The Asus X555LA-XX2264T packs a lot of technology and features into its compact size and affordable price tag. Here are some of the reasons why we think it's a great machine:

Design

With its ergonomic keyboard design typing is now much more comfortable with its X Series' full size one piece chiclet keyboard. The keyboard features several design elements that include an improved back assembly with 1.8mm of key travel and also a minimal key float which means typing will feel more solid. The touchpad is also much larger and smarter and includes intuitive ASUS Smart Gesture Input technology.

Display

It features a full HD 15.6" display which has a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 and a pixel density of 141 pixels per inch (PPI) which means you'll experience rich images on the display. The rich colours are produced with thier ASUS Splendid Technology which has colour temperature correction to produce those rich and vivid colours. Additionally another included technology is ASUS Vivid Mode which optimises colour contrast for when you are browsing your favourite photos, watching videos or full HD movies and Eye Care mode will reduce the level of blue light which makes the screen more comfortable if you are reading text for a long period of time. You can also adjust the display settings manually yourself to get it just right.

Sound

With a mixture of hardware and software based tuning the Sonic Master technology included was developed to give you the best audio you could find in a notebook. On the software side of things a professional codec ensures precise sound is delivered and that wouldn't be any good without decent speakers. The speakers deliver deeper and richer bass and additional signal processing helps to eliminate noise and improve clarity.

Cooling

Asus have their own iceCool technology which gives the X Series of laptops a great internal design that prevents heat build up which then transfers to under the palm rest which can make anybody's experience a little uncomfortable. ASUS say the technology can keep the palm rest between 28-35 C and the internal layout of the cooling system is arranged so any heat producing components are situated away from you which ensures even after a long period of use your still comfortable.

Performance

The ASUS X Series all feature the latest Intel Core processors which give you a smoother and much more responsive computing experience. In addition the processor performance alongside the NVIDIA graphics and an advanced memory controller which can utilise up to 12 GB of memory there are no issues when trying to run Windows 10 performance wise and daily tasks are easy. You can also choose a hard drive (HDD) size upto 2TB or upgrade to an SSD for lightning fast performance. SSD drives make starting your computer, opening applications and transferring files etc extremely fast due to no moving parts etc.

Battery

The included battery is a Li-Polymer and ASUS say it will give you about 800 charges and that's apparently 2.5 times the life span of a standard Li-ion cylinder type batteries. Additionally even after hundreds of charges the Li-Polymer will retain up to 80 % of its original charge capacity. Due to a combination of hardware and software improvements the battery adheres to the highest battery safety standards out there.
